Kueh Bakar Pandan....

Donno why I'm so enthusiastic today to make entries one after another...maybe because of I'd been silent all this while, almost a month I think... today is the tenth day of ramadhan...at the moment my hubby and our 3 gorgeous men are having their tarawikh at Masjid Putra...me, hehe...here, loyal with my laptop.... tonite me not going tarawikh coz...coz....hehe....

this ramadhan... I'm so much excited making and baking 'kueh tradisional'..... I know that I'm not that expert in making this kind of 'kueh' but I really wanna give myself a challenge...yeehaaaa..

on da 2nd day...hehe.. am started with baking this 'kueh' with the title up there... this 'kueh' is for all, not only people named Bakar can eat this.... ;)... got this recipe from rnet and because of my skill in baking authentics aka tradisional dishes is not yet been proved..(but who's gonna prove this..kih kih..) so, for my first attempt I decided to make it half of the recipe until I feel slightly regret after that...why?? continue reading k...hihi


Kueh Bakar Pandan

Ingredients:

3 1/2 cups of coconut milk (santan)
5 - 6 nos eggs
2 cups sugar
1/2 cup pandan water (~ use abt 10 pandan leaves)
2 cups flour

sesame (bijan) ~ optional (this one I don't use)


How to make :

- Whisk sugar & eggs till the sugar dissolve
- Add in all other ingredients except sesame.... stir till all well mix and sift
- Put in the mould till almost full... (I used 'loyang pecah 8'..the 'bunga2' one lor.. )
- Bake in the pre-heated oven at 180C for 35-40 minutes...
- spread the sesame on top when it is half-cooked ... (but I didn't...hehe...me don't like bijan ;)
- of course remove from the oven when it is fully cooked....if not....it will be kueh bakar pandan tebakar hangus...ngeeee.......


**I don't have time to capture the outcome... coz once we break our fast that day... each one's hand seems to go to the same plate.... and because of I did this into half of the recipe, so managed to get only 3 moulds which is one is ours, one I gave to my sis-in-law next door and another one to makcik or nenek, our rear neighbour....

from the feedback from my dearest hubby, whoaaa....who seems not enough with that only one mould 'kueh'... "this is a perfect 'kueh bakar' that I have ever taste... so you can start sell this one laa..." kih kih..... but deep in my heart says, this 'kueh' has become 'extra2 sodap' just because you guys 'berebut2' menyantap.... hihi

Kek Mentega Kurma...

Assalamu'alaykum.....

hari ni Shiela nak berkongsi resipi 'butter cake' yg dibuat masa puasa ke-3 baru2 ni.... bukan apa, hari tu anak sulung Shiela ada majlis iftar bersama dgn semua pelajar Gontor Malaysia yg lain yg dibuat di Sg. Ramal...

dia ada tanya, "nak bawa apa ye Ummi utk majlis berbuka nanti ?"....
"entah, Ummi pun takde idea la...nak masak apa ya..?"....
"kawan kata suruh Ummi buat kek la, dia kata kek Ummi buat sedap2..."

...... mak aii, terangkat makcik mendengarnyer..... ngeh3.... maklumlah kengkawan anak2 yg kata gitu kan... maka berkobar2 la hati makcik nk menyingsing lengan membuat kek... dlm hati berkata gak, ada ke umat yg nak makan kek masa berbuka nanti... ahh, peduli laa... janji buat, janji bawak...& janji senang...kih kih


Kek Mentega Kurma
Bahan2 :

250 gm mentega (butter)
200 gm gula halus
5 biji telur  (asingkan kuning & putih telur)
50 ml susu segar

240 gm tepung gandum } di ayak
1 sudu teh baking powder } bersama

200 gm kurma
 (dipotong kecil2... nak letak lebih kurma lebih lagi pun boleh. Kalau tak nak manis sangat kurangkan gula ya puan2)

** Pukul putih telur hingga kembang semangkuk... ;)
** Gaulkan kurma dengan tepung gandum terlebih dahulu... 


Cara membuatnya :
- Pukul mentega dan gula hingga kembang....
- Masukkan telur kuning satu persatu, pukul dan masukkan susu segar
- Akhir sekali, masukkan kurma dan tepung serta putih telur yang telah dipukul tadi....
- dah siap... boleh bakar dlm oven pd suhu 175C selama 50~60 minit


** dek kerana tak nak bg nampak gersang jer atas kek tuh, Shiela 'topping' kan dia dgn 'cheese topping' yg memang dh ada dlm fridge tuu.... maka membawa la depa tiga beranak pegi majlis iftar tu dgn membawa kek mentega kurma tajaan Ummi.... jeng jeng jeng... jgn kemana2... ada sambungan cerita nii... ;)

** maka balik la depa dgn berlenggang kangkong.......
"kitorg gi terawih kat masjid Uniten tadi mi...ummi, ummi nak tau kek ummi buat tadi liciiiinnnn"....
"hmmm, ye ke... ada gak org makan kek ummi ekk...."

"apa tidaknyer, kawan abah tu dok beratur panjang nak ngambik nasi...kebetulan depan dia tu kek ummi, kitorg tgk satu... satu.... dia ambik makan...."
pastu abah tanya dia, "Ko tau ke sapa yg buat kek ni... Ummi Rushdan la yg buat nii..."
"O ya ka, buleh order laa..." kata kwn abah tu...sambil makan dan makan lagi.... sampai separuh kek tu abih kat dia...."huh..berbaloi & alhamdulillah" (dalam hati i ler ;)...
